Stop Counting Mansions For Your Girlfriends As Factories- Chairman Wontumi Replies John Mahama

Mansions bought for concubines with the taxpayer’s  money can not be counted as factories and the earlier Mr. John Dramani Mahama stops counting them as such the better, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has said.

The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is reacting to claims by the former President that the current administration has collapsed all the factories he built before leaving office.

Speaking to Wontumionline.com about the matter, Chairman Wontumi stated that the former President was misinforming the public if he claims he has built factories which has now become defunct under the current Akufo-Addo government.

He explained that he is convinced former President John Mahama is counting the mansions he bought for his girlfriends as factories.

“I want to state on authority that the government of Akufo-Addo hasn’t collapsed any factory built by the previous government. Even the Komenda Sugar factory which was started and not completed by former President John Mahama has been renovated by President Akufo-Addo”, Chairman Wontumi said.

He continued that “former President Mahama should stop counting mansions he bought for his numerous girlfriends as factories he built”.

Mr. Mahama has taken a swipe at the NPP government for the collapse of many of the factories he claims he built under his presidency including the Buipe Sheanut factory.

Speaking in Buipe during the 15th anniversary of the Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor on 7th October 2023, the former President Mahama indicated that the collapse of the shea processing factory located in Buipe which had employed thousands of the youth (direct and indirectly) until its collapse has created lots of unemployment in the area and went on to admonish government to quickly rejuvenate the dead factory but was quick to add that on the event the government is unable to revamp the dead factory, his readiness to fix it is not in doubt following his victory in 2024.
