A renowned pollster, Dr. Smart Sarpong has cautioned supporters of Dr. Kwabena Duffour to stop tagging Mr. John Mahama a “pensioner president” since it will have a dire effect on him.
Dr. Sarpong who was reacting to the issue of name calling in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of their flagbearership contest, stated that calling the former President by that name is not a good campaign message.
He urged contestants in the race to inform their supporters to focus on selling a message that can woo delegates to their side and shy away from the name calling.
Dr. Smart Sarpong chipped in on Wontumi TV that every indicator points to Mr. Mahama’s victory in the NDC flagbearership contest and used the occasion to caution his opponent to respect him.

Also, the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser of the NDC, Gloria Huze, has picked up nomination forms for former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor to enable him contest in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
So far, four individuals have picked up their forms to contest as flagbearers on the ticket of the NDC.
