I have read and listened to some comments by the Odotobri Constitency Chairman, Dom Peace, in which he is calling on the party to change all of our 137 Members of Parliament in order for us to win the next 2024 elections.
I have also taken notice of his call for again 50% of our MPs to step aside for new faces to be brought in before we can break the 8-year political cycle.
I wish to state that his comments lacked merit and isn’t supported by the Ashanti region because we believe that the contributions of our current MPs can’t be taken for granted.
I have personally called and spoken to Dom Peace and made it clear to him that we need a united front as the party especially the Ashanti region which is the heart of the party, prepares to participate in the historic achievement of breaking the 8.
He has personally apologized to the leadership of the party and made it clear he missed a golden opportunity to recognize the massive contributions of our MPs.
I have accepted his apology on behalf of the leadership in Ashanti region and maintained that we don’t need such divisive comments going forward.
