The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, has attributed the party’s defeat to President Akufo-Addo’s autocratic decision-making style, which led to several missteps.
Mr Yandoh expressed regret that President Nana Akufo-Addo didn’t heed their advice, which would have led to the dismissal of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare before the election.
He believes that taking this action would have prevented certain issues that arose during and after the election period.
He feel that the President’s decision not to sack the IGP has had significant consequences.
Paul Yandoh emphasized that it’s not too late for the party to reorganize and make a stronger comeback in the 2028 elections.
He urged party loyalists to maintain their faith in the party and its candidate, Dr. Bawumia.
He also extended well-wishes to President-elect John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), encouraging them to deliver on their campaign promises, these promises include stabilizing the dollar, reducing cement and goods prices, and implementing their flagship 24-hour economy policy.
