Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces, have arrested an illegal Chinese miner destroying water bodies in a deep forest.
The Chinese national whose operation had discolored the river he was destroying is seen in the video wearing dirty clothes searching for gold despite the ban President Akufo-Addo’s has placed on galamsey.
A military man believed to be leader of the operation that busted the illegal Chinese miner was heard explaining to the illegal miner how dangerous his activity is to the ecosystem.
The video which was shown on Nsempa Fie on Wontumi TV captured two heavy pipes connected to the polluted river.

One of the pipes, according to the military officer, pumps water from the river to a location where the illegal Chinese miners search for gold using hazardous chemicals such as mercury.
After that process, they flush every waste into the second pipe which discharges into the river, polluting it.
In the same video, the miners have assembled heavy machinery which helps them find their gold.
Contributing to the development, the Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe noted that the activities of the illegal miners was a major cause of strange diseases affecting most Ghanaians.
He noted that if Ghanaians don’t speak against the activities of illegal miners, we might all die of thirst and strange diseases in the future.
