Snr Martin Ameyaw Reaffirms Govt Commitment To Make NABCO Trainees Permanent
The Dean of NABCO Middle Belt Monitoring Team, (Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo, Bono East and Eastern Regions) has reaffirmed President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to offer permanent employment to the NABCO recruits
at the end of the Nabco program.
Snr Martin Ameyaw seized the
opportunity to further explain that, when you look at the engagement letter of all Nabco trainees, it is already stipulated in there that, at the end of the NABCO program, the Nabco trainees will exit through three (3) main Career Pathways, i.e. Permanent Employment, Entrepreneurship and Career Focused Further Learning.
“So we are already training the NABCO trainees on how to exit into the three main career pathways,”he stressed on Wontumi TV on Friday.
He stated that government will take steps to employ another 100,000 graduates for the second phase of the program at the end of the first phase of the program.
“In view of this there is nationwide monitoring which will help the President to make that bold decision, he emphasized.
Snr Martin stated categorically on Wontumi Tv that, the exit plans are achievable and it’s already ongoing because most Nurses under NABCO Heal Ghana module who completed school in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 have received permanent employment and have successfully exited from the program.
He said during the Local Government recruitment in 2019, most Trainees under the Civic and Revenue Ghana module successfully got permanent employment and have since exited from the Nabco.
“Same has happened to all other modules as part of government recruitment in all sectors, he noted.
Snr. Martin believes that the President can achieve the NABCO Exit Plans because many people said the Free Senior High School, 1D1F and other government flagship programs wasn’t achievable but today there are about 1.2 million Senior High sichool students enjoying this FSHS and over 105 factories scattered across the country.
Again, over 32,000 graduates were given the opportunity through Ghana Scholarship Secretariat to further their education in both foreign and local institutions in 2019, adding that these category of people also have had Career focused further learning.
“NABCO in partnership with NBSSI and Master Card Foundation offered training to those who had interest in entrepreneurship, most of the people under NABCO who joined this training has received seed capital to establish their own businesses,” he explained.
According to him, this has reduced the number from 100,000 to 68,000 since 16th September, 2021.
“This means that the President has already started rolling out the exit plans,” he noted.
