Ghanaian Dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., well known as Shatta Wale has also come out to react to the death of the Former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings who passed away yesterday 12 November, 2020 after a short illness.
Shatta Wale has revealed that JJ Rawlings was his mentor and also revealed one of the inspirations he got from the late Ex-President.
It would be vividly recalled that in 2013, Shatta Wale released a song titled “Like My Thing” which in one of the verses said “mi rule dem like Jerry John Rawlings”, meaning he is ruling the music industry just as the late Ex-President ruled Ghana some time ago.
Former President, Jerry John Rawlings was a powerful ruler. His ruling ensured discipline in the country. Rawlings was one person who was ever willing to do whatever is necessary to make sure the country is governed by some fundamental values and principles.
