Sekyere Kumawu Assembly Members Apologize For Failure To Confirm President’s Nominee
Some Assembly members of Sekyere Kumawu District in the Ashanti Region have rendered an unqualified apologies to any individual who felt offended by the actions of some members over the failure to confirm the President’s nominee in their first sitting upon the numerous consultations some dignified individuals like the Member of Council of State, the Traditional Authorities and a host of others had with them prior to the confirmation of the President’s nominee, Hon.Samuel Addai Agyekum.
According to the statement this has become relevant, as the actions and inactions of the members might spell doom for their dear District in the near future, considering the fact that, the position they occupy as an honorable members comes with a specified responsibilities of fishing for development for the dear constituents, and anything contrary to that must be given a second thought.
Upon a sober reflection of the various commentaries being run across the various media landscape and on the streets of our District over this same issue, it does appears that, Sekyere Kumawu is courting bad name publicly, with others describing the entire innocent constituents of Sekyere Kumawu with unpleasant words like “litigants” through our actions, whereas a lot of constituents are of the view that, the decision of our members is a deliberate attempt to frustrate the President’s nominee and the NPP government as a whole, hence the need for this release in order to ensure calm and re-assure the respectable persons like Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, the Regional Minister, the Traditional authorities, the media and the general public whose words were disrespected by our members, of our readiness to confirm the President’s nominee in our next sitting based on a series of consultations we have had with them, and the words of assurance given us.”It further stated.
“To this end, we want to assure the general public, especially the good people of Sekyere Kumawu both home and abroad and all interested parties to remain calm, since plans are far in advance with our members in making sure the President’s nominee, Samuel Addai Agyekum is confirmed as expected by all constituents of Sekyere Kumawu and the general public in our next sitting.
We wish ourselves well in all our endeavors, shalom.”
