The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has asked Rev Owusu Bempah to speak up about his relationship with Agradaa and stop keeping it in the dark.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi challenged Rev Owusu Bempah to stop lying to the public that the NPP pushed the Ghana Police Service to arrest him.
He continued that in an attempt to free his thugs who had beaten police officers, Rev Owusu Bempah “went to the police station to bang tables and brag”.
Owusu Bempah, according to Chairman Wontumi kept some portions of his story from me and only told him he has been arrested without reason.
As a caring friend, Chairman Wontumi said he spoke to the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare on the matter and came to a realization that he had been misled by Owusu Bempah.
“So I called Dampare and he told me that his men were investigating the gun wielding thugs of Owusu Bempah. He told me that Owusu Bempah’s men had beaten the policemen so the police administration wanted to make an arrest”, the NPP Chairman explained on the Wontumi Morning Show.
He reacted to the news by calling Rev Owusu Bempah back to rebuke him for lying to him.
“I called Owusu Bempah to tell him that he lied to me because he didn’t tell me all the story. So I told him to called Rev Victor Kusi Boateng. He didn’t want to call him and questioned why he had to a junior to him. But I told him it is doesn’t work that way”, he said.
Chairman Wontumi stated that Mr. John Boadu, a former General Secretary of the NPP also intervened at some point.
“John Boadu and three others went to police station to put the matter under control. They sat there till the next day”, Chairman Wontumi said.
