President Announces Fresh Timetable For The Re-opening Of Schools
President of the Republic Nana Akufo-Addo has announced the time table for the resumption of school academic activities for schools at all levels with students of Junior High School returning on January 15th.
According to him government is satisfied with its Achievements in controlling the spread of the COVID-19 and therefore finds the reopening of schools appropriate.
Addressing the nation on the update number 21 on measures taken to curtail the spread of the COVID-19
monitored by Wontumionline.com, he said that, SHS 1 students are to start classes on 10th March 2021.
“SHS 2 and 3 students return to school 18th January.” He indicated
The first gentleman of the land insisted that, the students in the universities are to return to their various schools on 9th January 2021.
He stressed that, the government in consultation with the appropriate stake holders will continue to pursue a strategic, controlled, progressive and safe easing of the COVID-19 restrictions.
“Religious activities for schools under the new protocols would be permitted.” He said
The President hinted that the various institutions would be fumigated and disinfected before the re-opening.
He said that government will distribute thermometer guns, face mask, veronica buckets, hand sanitizers the schools.
“The government is determined to protect the lives of the students, teachers and non- teaching staff.” He assured.
