Savannah Region NPP Thanks Gonja King, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I And Congratulates Hon. Jinapor

The Leadership and Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Savannah Region wishes to thank the King of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I, for lifting the ban on the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Damango Constituency, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, MP, from visiting the Jakpa Palace and other Palaces within the Gonja Kingdom.

The Party also, wishes to thank the Yagbonwura for blessing Mr. Jinapor, a son of the Gonja Kingdom, and accepting him as a proud grandson. This confirms the Party’s belief that Mr. Jinapor, a Prince of Gonjaland, respects the Chieftaincy institution in general, and the Chiefs and people of Gonja, in particular.

The Party takes this opportunity to congratulate the Member of Parliament for Damango Constituency, who doubles as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, for his humility, respect and commitment to the customs and traditions of the Gonja Kingdom.

The Regional Party wishes to thank, sincerely, the President of the Republic, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for his intense interest in this matter, and for sending a high-powered delegation to the Jakpa Palace to resolve the matter.

The Party is, also, grateful to the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, who led the Government delegation to meet with the NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY SAVANNAH REGIONAL SECRETARIAT Yagbonwura to resolve the issue. Hon. Asamoah Boateng has shown that he is a peace-broker, and a leader truly committed to unity.

Finally, the Party thanks all those who assisted in getting the matter resolved, including the members of the President’s delegation, the Minister for Defense, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, Savannah Region’s representative on the Council of State, Hon. Alhaji Kpongriwura Adam Zakaria, the Savannah Regional Minister, and Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril.

The resolution of this impasse reaffirms the Party’s long-held view that the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, MP, as a Prince of Gonja, will not engage in acts that denigrate the Gonja King, nor any other chief for that matter.

The Party reiterates its commitment to working with the Jakpa Palace, and all the chiefs and people of Gonja to bring the much needed prosperity to the people of Ghana, under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, and subsequently, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
