Samira Champions Husband’s Cause in Bosomtwe, Asokwa Constituencies

The Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia’s 8-day tour of the Ashanti Region has entered day three,
touring the Bosomtwe and the Asokwa constituencies.

The Sawua Palace was the first point of call by Samira Bawumia, as she pays a courtesy call on the chief of Sawua, Nana Antwi Sarkodie II.

Together with the Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the second lady was at the Sawua Palace, where she interacted with the chief and his council on matters of national concern.

In his welcome remarks, the chief of Sawua, Nana Antwi Sarkodie, first called for decorum and civility in the political arena as the elections draw nearer.

“God is the maker of kings, so continue spreading your message. I also thank you for supporting your husband in the pursuit of his presidential ambition, ” Nana stressed, further stating that “men succeed when they are supported by good and dedicated wives. I also join the Asantehene and bless you as you embark on this very ambitious but unique journey.”

For her part, Hajia Samira Bawumia reaffirmed her husband’s commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians, especially women and the youth.

She highlighted Dr Bawumia’s plans to empower women through the establishment of a Women Empowerment Fund, designed to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) led by women.

She repeated her husband’s agenda of creating one million jobs, with a particular focus on youth employment, as part of his vision for the country’s economic development.

“Dr. Bawumia is poised to improve the lives of the people of Ghana and Asante. His vision is to empower women with the establishment of the Women Empowerment Fund and an SME Bank to provide financial support to women. With the prayers of Nananom, Dr. Bawumia and the NPP will emerge victorious,” she said.

Before the day ends, Mrs Bawumia will touch base with the people of Aputuogya, also on a similar mission to encourage the youth to rally behind her husband, Dr Bawumia, come December 7.

Today’s tour will end at Atonsu lorry terminal in the Asokwa constituency, where she will address a mammoth rally.
