Sam Pyne Secures Partnership With USA Cities….KNUST And KsTU To Benefit.

Sam Pyne, Kumasi Mayor with Eric Johnson, Dallas City Mayor in a recent meeting in the United States of America

The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon Samuel Pyne on Monday morning announced some goodies for the people of the metropolis including a sister relationship with Dallas in the USA as well as exchange programs between Johnson C Smith University in Charlotte-North Carolina and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as well as the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU).

The Mayor said the partnership between the KMA and Dallas will get the two sister cities to explore avenues in sanitation, tourism and in the hospitality industry.

This, he noted, would mean officials of both cities meeting to discuss ways they could share ideas to make the areas they have identified workable for the common good of their citizens.

‘’The Dallas Mayor has already set in place a committee to collaborate with the KMA to facilitate further follow up trips and meetings to ensure we get on stream the plan discussed in Dallas two weeks ago during my two weeks investment tour”, the Mayor disclosed.

UNIVERSITIES:

The Mayor mentioned that the Johnson C Smith University in Charlotte has agreed to share its academic programs with KNUST and KsTU.

This, the Mayor disclosed, would bring in its wake the offer of scholarships to Ghanaian students who will be interested in traveling for further studies at the Johnson C Smith University.

These exchange programs as well as scholarships, the Mayor stated would benefit KNUST and KsTU but hinted more opportunities would be sought to include more tertiary institutions in Kumasi.

‘’I am confident that the eagerness Johnson C Smith University has shown in collaborating with KNUST and KsTU would be beneficial for our students and the people of Kumasi’’, the Mayor noted.

APPEAL:

The Mayor appealed for support from the people of Kumasi as he pushes for development for the metropolis.

He noted that he does not enjoy sitting in the plane for long hours but has had to undertake the trips to get support to ensure KMA deals with sanitation as well as development in every aspect of the lives of residents.

He rallied the people to provide ideas and solutions they may have in mind and shun the way some have used radio to abuse people in power.

‘’My heartbeat is to see Kumasi developed in every aspect but would need your support and suggestions as a people so that collectively we can chart our path to progress and prosperity’’, Hon Pyne posited.
