Rivals, Not Enemies – Asante Kotoko Joins Hearts To Mourn Shomo Quaye
Prmier League side Asante Kotoko have, in respectful solidarity, joined their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak to mourn the tragic passing of staunch Hearts of Oak fan Shomo Quaye.
The devoted Accra Hearts of Oak supporter Shomo Quaye died on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 during the late evening after being knocked down by a speeding vehicle. Quaye was rushed to the Accidents and Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
On Thursday, Accra Hearts of Oak took to their Twitter to announce their condolences to the family of the late Quaye, describing him as a “passionate supporter” of the club.
Despite the endless rivalry between the two giant Ghanaian football clubs, Asante Kotoko have joined their arch rivals in mourning the late Quaye, whose passion for the game of football was enjoyed by all who ever listened to him on air as a fan of the game.
“We join the Phobian family in mourning the passing of staunch fan, Shomo Quaye. Our condolences are with the family and everyone affected by the loss”, Asante Kotoko wrote on Twitter.
