The head of Accounting Department at the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Samson Anoma, has built a strong case for Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako by calling on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to maintain him as Ashanti regional Chairman.
In the NPP’s quest to maintain political power and break the 8-year political cycle, Dr. Samson Anoma openly stated that it will take the leadership of Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi to ensure Dr. Bawumia takes over from President Akufo-Addo.
“We are not just looking for someone to come and use the party for a trials, we need someone who has won us power before. He (Chairman Wontumi) can ensure Bawumia becomes President”, Dr. Anoma said.

The university lecturer in an interview on Wontumi TV, stated that Chairman Wontumi, has over the years demonstrated that he has the wit to help the NPP win political power and therefore, would be wrong to replace him with another person.
According to Dr. Samson Anoma, replacing Chairman Wontumi with another candidate would have a dire effect on the electoral fortunes of the NPP in 2024 noting that “if the NPP reject him and bring another person, they can’t win power in 2024.”
