Reps Consider Bill Seeking To Ban Cross-Dressing In Nigeria And Jail Offenders For 6 Months
Umar Muda, a member of the House of Representatives has acquainted a bill with preclude cross-dressing in Nigeria.
The bill, read on the floor of the House on Tuesday, April 5, tries to ban cross-dressing with the exception of those involving it for entertainment.
On the off chance that the proposed regulation is passed, cross-dressers will be condemned to a half year in jail.
“An individual participating in cross-dressing is at fault for an offense and obligated to detainment of a half year or to a fine of 500,000 naira,” the bill says.
The bill tries to correct the equivalent sex marriage (denial) demonstration of 2013 by including cross-dressing as one of the offenses under the demonstration.
