The Chelsea defender has joined the Championship club for the remainder of the season, spurning interest from a number of clubs.
Baba was approached by clubs in France, Germany, and Spain, but he chose to stay in England, where Reading and West Brom were the frontrunners to sign him.
The left-back decided to return to Reading for a second loan spell after appearing for them last season.
“We are delighted to announce that Baba Rahman has sealed a return to Reading Football Club for a second season-long loan spell in blue and white hoops,” the Championship club announced.
Baba first arrived at Bearwood Park almost exactly a year ago, ahead of an impressive season as a Royal; the Black Stars defender made 29 starts at left-back during Reading’s 150th anniversary campaign and was instrumental in the club’s fight for Championship survival.
During that season, he also represented his country in the Africa Cup of Nations, alongside Royals skipper Andy Yiadom, and he will be hoping for another successful season as a Reading player ahead of the World Cup finals in Qatar.
A Reading fan, pleased with Rahman’s return, posted a poem about the defender on Twitter.
Baba Rahman’s contract with Chelsea will expire in June 2024.
