Rawlings Funeral: Nana Oteatuoso Roasts Asiedu Nketiah Over Private Funeral Claims
Nana Oteatuoso Kokoben II, has questioned the motive behind the statement made by the general secretary of the NDC, Asiedu Nketiah that the opposition party would organise a private funeral for the later former statesman.
He said that, Ghanaians know the frosty relationship that existed between the General Secretary of the NDC and the founder of the party.
According to the Akwanserehene of Akyem Kwabeng in an interview on Wontumi Radio and TV’s Morning Show the NDC didn’t invite Jerry John Rawlings to participate in the launch of the party’s elections manifestos.
The firebrand NPP staunch supporter roared that, Asiedu Nketiah should “stop the concert”, because he is dissociated himself from the former President long before he died.
“You cannot do anything.” Nana Oteatuoso told the NDC general secretary
He emphaiszed that, JJ Rawlings received salary as a former statesman and that the state has the right to organize his funeral but not the NDC.
“Like John Agyekum Kufour, the country paid JJ Rawlings every month so he is the country’s property.” He said
Nana Oteatuoso told Oheneba Nana Asiedu who has been adjudged the Morning Show Host of the year by the National Communications that, “Jerry John Rawlings would be given a befitting state burial to honor him.”
