The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has dismissed claims by Prof Hanke that President Akufo-Addo has put Ghana’s economy in a tank.
Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi explained to Wontumionline.com that the explanations being given by Prof. Hanke about the economy of Ghana were “dishonest” and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
According to Chairman Wontumi, if the same currency board he touts is used on the economies of Italy, Russia, China, Nigeria, Morroco etc, it will show that Ghana’s economy is performing better.
Chairman Wontumi continued that parts of the United Kingdom is currently experiencing electricity power rationing- wondering what Prof. Hanke has to say about it.
“The whole world is facing a problem. Italy, Spain, America, Russia, China are all facing economy trauma. In England, you can’t walk into a shop and buy more than a tin of milk for yourself. In Nigeria, $1 dollar is N760…you will see Ghana is doing better”, Chairman Wontumi said.
He highlighted the trouble the UK is facing that has forced its current Prime Minister (PM) Liz Truss to resign.
Liz Truss resigned as PM after 45 days in office, making her the shortest-serving PM in UK history.
