Population Census: No Need To Travel, You Can Be Counted Anywhere- Statistical Service
The Ghana Statical Service says, there is no need for persons to travel to their hometowns or other places in order for them to be counted.
According to the Statical Service, every person can be counted irrespective of the places they would be at.
The Head of Publicity for the Service revealed to Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Radio/TV ‘The Privilege’ Morning Show that, the population and housing census would be conducted electronically thus digital census.
He said that, it would help the Statistical Service acquire the answers for the question that would be queried.
“It will speed up the data collection and the outcome of the census,” he added.
According to him, the provisional results of the Census would be out in three months after the counting.
“Unlike the olden days which takes about one or more years to get the results, this will take three months to produce the provisional results,” he said.
Mr. Nyarko Larbie urged Ghanaians to avail themselves for the exercise.
“Government and NGOs need the population to know number of residents living in an area to know the developmental projects to build there,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the head of the publicity for the Ghana Statistical Service disclosed that, June 13 is slated for listing while June 27 is also slated for census night.
