The residents of Poano, a town in the Bekwai Constituency of the Ashanti Region, are breathing a sigh of relief after a massive dumpsite that had plagued their community for over 60 years was finally cleared by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate, Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei
The dumpsite, which had become a health hazard and an eyesore, was cleared as the PC fulfilled his pledge. Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei, who is also the Parliamentary Candidate for NPP in Bekwai Constituency, personally supervised the exercise, which involved the deployment of heavy machinery and a team of workers.
The dumpsite, which had been in existence since the 1960s, had become a breeding ground for diseases and a nuisance to residents. Despite numerous complaints and promises from previous leaders, the dumpsite had remained a persistent problem.
Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei’s intervention has been hailed as a major breakthrough for the community. “We are grateful to Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei for his intervention,” said Ama Serwaa, a resident of Poano. “The dumpsite was a constant reminder of our neglect, but today we can proudly say that our community is clean and safe.”
The exercise has also improved the aesthetic appeal of the community, with many residents expressing their joy and appreciation for the transformation. Mr. Afriyie’s gesture has also boosted his popularity in the community, with many residents pledging their support for his political ambitions.
Speaking at the site, Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei expressed his delight at the successful process of the project, saying, “Today marks a significant milestone in the history of Poano. We have restored our community’s dignity and created a healthier environment for our people, this and many more greater vision is what i’m coming to do to improve the livelihood of our people”
