The Bosomtwe District Assembly has put smiles on the faces of persons with disability in the area by donating industrial items to them.

Some of the items donated were home appliances, wheelchairs, wheelbarrows, fufu pounding machines, sewing machines and laptops.

Speaking with the press, the District Chief Executive for the area, Lawyer Joseph Assuming said the life of the disabled matters most.

Lawyer Assuming said, the government at first was supporting them with the cash “but it got exhausted so we have given these items to them as capital.”

He told them that the items are for working and not for keeping at home.

Lawyer Joseph Assuming hinted that a Monitoring team will be deployed to scrutinize the usage of the items.

He urged the beneficiaries not to sell or keep them at home but rather use them to work.

The acting President of the Ghana Federation of Disables, Maxwell J.K Boachie on behalf of the beneficiaries commended the Assembly for the kind gesture.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items so the Assembly can present a good report to the Central government.

J.K. Boachie said if they make good use of the items it will increase the votes of the NPP in the 2024 general elections.
