The Ashanti Regional Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has, appointed persons to head the various offices of the party in the region, as well as deputy regional officers.
The appointment comes after the regional party’s executive committee meeting on Friday, June 17, 2022.
One appointment that has received an ecstatic response from the rank and file of the party is the appointment of Dennis Kwakwa as the Regional Communications Officer.
The immediate past Regional Youth Organiser of the party, who is now the youngest ever to be appointed into the position of the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer, has over the years, be known for his fantastic communication prowess, which according to the party members, makes this appointment long overdue.
There has been a growing concern among the party people about the deep cracks at the communication front of the party which was worsened and aggravated by the heated regional elections. This therefore makes this time the most difficult ever for any Communication Officer to manage and handle the affairs of the communication setup of the party.
However, taken into consideration Dennis Kwakwa’s stellar performance and track record as the Regional Youth Organiser, he is expected to reunite and revamp the structure, and inject a renewed sense of camaraderie while glueing the fragments as soon as he can, to make sure the new leadership deliver on their mandate.
Dennis Kwakwa has over 12 years of professional teaching experience. Dennis Kwakwa worked with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) as a District Manager before being appointed as the Ashanti Regional NABCO Coordinator in 2018, a position he has held till date.
As the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, his hardwork saw an upward surge in the party’s votes in the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in the Region, and victory for the presidential candidate, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He is the Founder of the Free SHS Graduates Association.
Other appointments made by the Ashanti Regional Executives include Christian Atta Sarpong as Deputy Organiser, Yahaya Salifu as Deputy Youth Organiser, Stephen Owusu as Elections and Research Officer, Victoria Dogbey as Deputy Women’s Organiser, Hamisu Ibrahim as Deputy Nasara Coordinator and Abagna Samuel as Financial Secretary.
