The Member of Parliament for Adansi Akrofuom Constituency, Hon. Alex Blankson has donated chop boxes, trunks and student mattresses to brilliant but needy graduates of the 2022 Basic Education and Certificate Exaction(BECE).
Sixty students benefited from the donation.
In an interaction with Wontumionline.com, he indicated that such donations motivate the learners to burn more candles.
He said the students are countless but lucky ones have been selected.
Hon. Blankson cautioned them to be choosy about the friends they will make in the secondary school.
“Secondary school is a stepping stone in life and they should be vigilant there and remember their background,” he urged the students.
For his part the Education Director for the area, Mr George Safo Kantanka said Despite the free SHS policy implemented by the Akufo-Addo government, parents still find it difficult to purchase chop boxes, trunks and student mattresses for their wards.
He said, Hon. Blankson has taken the burden upon himself to support the parents and the children.
Mr Sarfo Kantanka said the BECE results over the years have been average but the results keep improving each year.
The students complimented the Member of Parliament for the kind gesture and wished him God’s blessings.
They promised not to let his effort be in vain.
