PICTURES: $180M Afari 500-Bed Military Hospital Nears Completion As Govt Solves Challenges Of The Project

The National Coordinator for the Monitoring and Evaluation Secretariat (MES) office of the President Hon. Gifty Ohene- Konadu on Saturday, 2/07/2022 continued the inspection of government priority projects in the Ashanti Region.

The projects were the 500-bed capacity Afari Military Hospital, Tanoso- Abuakwa stretch and Kasapreko Company Ltd.

500-Bed Capacity Afari Military Hospital

Hon. Gifty Ohene-Konadu was given a rousing welcome and was taken through the facilities of the hospital.

Ahmed Abou Shaman, the resident Engineer who assisted the MES National Coordinator to do the monitoring hinted that the project is 95% complete.

Abou Shaman expressed the hope that the project will be completed by end of this year.

He said the testing and commissioning of equipment will commence in November and December.

The resident Engineer stressed that the government has solved the challenges that led to the delay of the project.

He disclosed that the cost of the project is $180M.

Kasapreko Company Ltd.

Hon. Gifty Ohene-Konadu took the inspection to Tanoso to inspect the Kasapreko Company Ltd under the One District One Factory program which was commissioned by President Akufo-Addo in 2020.

The Production Manager for the company, Bernard Quaye let out that the Company has benefited the community.

Bernard Quaye said close to 250 workers living around the vicinity.

He said the company has expanded in terms of processing lines.

He revealed that the Company produces alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Tanso- Abuakwa Road

Hon. Gifty Ohene-Konadu inspected the progress of work done on the project.
