The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, together with the party’s General Secretary, Mr. John Boadu, led a ceremony yesterday to inaugurate a “solid” campaign team for the region ahead of the 2020 general elections.
In an address by the Chairman for the Campaign, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, he mentioned that the NPP is targeting all 47 seats in the Ashanti region and is planning to take away all seats the National Democratic Congress is currently holding.
Chairman Wontumi as he is largely known, called for unity and maintained that with “science and data”, they could achieve the dream of reducing the NDC’s vote in Ashanti region.
The party’s General Secretary, Mr Boadu, congratulated the team and pleaded with them to help the party hit its target for 2020.
At the same ceremony, the Special Aide and Political Strategist for Chairman Wontumi, Andy Owusu, was sworn in to lead the operational and grounds duties of the party in the region.
Andy Owusu, who is part of the 35 member Regional Campaign Team inaugurated on Tuesday, will be coordinating all activities involving other identifiable groups such as Volunteers, IT and Media, including social media.
