Parliament Approves Second Batch Of Deputy Ministers

Parliament of Ghana has unanimously approved the second batch of Deputy Ministers following  report and recommendation of the appointment committee.

A total of 13 Deputy Ministers were approved.

Three were held on with an explanation that, there are some issues that need to be cleared.

Presenting the committee’s report, the Hon Chairman, Joseph Osei Owusu presented the following names to the House for approval:

1: Hon Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer- Deputy minister for Energy

2: Hon. John Ntim Fordjour- Deputy minister for Education

3:Hon George Mireku Duker- Deputy minister for Lands and Natural Resources

4: Hon Kofi Amankwah-Manu -Deputy minister for Defence

5: Hon Naana Ayiah-Quansah- Deputy minister for Interior

6:Hon Hassah Sulemana Tampuli- Deputy minister for Transport

7: Hon John Ampontua Kuma- Deputy minister for finance

8: Hon Frederick Obeng Adom-Deputy minister for Transport

9: Hon Mavis Nkasah Boadu-Deputy minister for Roads and Highways

10: Hon Evan Opoku Bobie- Deputy minister for Youth and Sports

11: Hon Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru- Deputy minister for Food and Agriculture

12: Hon Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah- Deputy Minister for Health

However Parliament has recommended that, report on the 3 deputy ministers who were not approved by the House should be reconsidered by the appointment committee and report back to the House in the coming days.

They are:
1: Hon Gifty Twum-Ampofo- Deputy minister designate for Education

2: Hon Amidu Issahaku Chinnia- Deputy minister designate for sanitation and water Resources

3: Hon. Diana Asonaba Dapaah- Deputy minister designate for Attorney General and Minister for Justice
