Oyoko Zongo Chief Commends President, DCE
The Sarikin Zongo of Oyoko, Alhaji Issah Berkye has commended the New Patriotic Party government and the Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly for spreading development projects across the district.
The Zongo chief in an interaction with the media said compared with the NDC administration, the current Nana Akufo-Addo led government has made the difference by dotting projects across the district.
He commended the government and the District Assembly for ensuring equitable distribution of projects resulting in development projects of which Oyoko Zongo community is a beneficiary.
Alhaji Berkye mentioned that Oyoko community which is the gateway to the Sekyere Kumawu district has benefitted from projects by the District Assembly among which are the rehabilitation of the Oyoko Methodist JHS at the cost of GHc93,000 and the construction of a water closet lavatory for the Oyoko Zongo community.
He also pointed to evacuation of accumulated refuse dumps at 13 communities including Oyoko Township in the district funded at the cost of GHc55,000 from the Assemblies Internally Generated Funds to the admiration of the beneficiary communities .
The chief mentioned a number of schools, electricity, water and roads among others had been provided in the area and pleaded with the government to continue to share the national cake equitably to maintain the standard of living and improve the lot of the people.
Alhaji Berkye advised the government to consider maintaining , Hon Samuel Addai Agyekum, the District Chief executive for Sekyere Kumawu in order to keep the pace of unprecedented development in the area.
