The Member of Parliament Effiduase Asokore in the Ashanti Region, Dr Ayew Afriye has assured Ghanaians that the economy would show positive signs by June this year.
He noted that the measures the government through the Economic Management Team had put in place would ensure a complete bounce back.
Speaking to the media after addressing the maiden inauguration ceremony of the Effiduase Asokore Women’s wing, Dr Afriye said he was very hopeful of a good 2023.
“The NPP government has shown determination to do all it can to reverse the negative impact Covid-19 and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has had on our economy and this gives me hope for 2023 and in six months time we would see positive outcomes”, the Effiduase Asokore MP stated.
POLITICS:
Expressing profuse confidence in the NPP, Dr Afriye said the party would work to retain power in 2024.
He noted that it would be remiss of the NPP to start something concrete in the country and leave it for another party to mess it up.
The NPP, Dr Ayew Afriye said would present a solid candidate as flagbearer and ensure that members work hard to retain power in 2024.
“I am confident of us retaining power in 2024 and just as the Women’s wing in my constituency has started its version of grassroot work, all of us would join to market our candidate ahead of the 2024 General elections”, the MP intimated.
PREDICTION:
The NPP MP said that the current Vice President appears to have taken a giant leap to becoming the party’s flagbearer ahead of its internal elections.
He noted that the grassroots appear to have confidence in the Veep and would not be surprised that they endorse him ahead of the others when the date for the poll is set.
The MP said he sees the upcoming flagbearer election as an avenue where the party would be endorsing the Vice President ahead of the other interested aspirants.
“From where I sit and from what I have seen, the Vice President would win a landslide victory in the party’s flagbearer poll and for me I will not be surprised if he garners at least 83% to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections”, Dr Ayew firmly stated.
