Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has dissected discussions about vice President Bawumia noting that the key figures within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) talk as if they are convinced he is leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 general elections.
The Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), singled out Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Joyce Bawa and Sam George as prominent members of the NDC who either counter or generate conversations about the sitting vice President.
Speaking to Gordon Asare-Bediako on Movement TV last Saturday, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah stated that “they are always talking about Bawumia. They don’t even talk about the other candidates. It tells you that Bawumia has already been elected because they fear him.”
His statement came on the back of a false allegation by Sam Pee Yalley that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, holds British citizenship.
However, the spokesperson for vice President Bawumia, Dr. Giedon Boako, has responded to malicious agenda by the NDC.
Dr. Giedon Boako in a Facebook post stated that: The attention of the Office of the Vice President has been drawn to a malicious social media allegation that the Vice President holds a British citizenship while holding the office of Vice President, contrary to the laws of Ghana” .
It continued: “We wish to state in clear terms that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia does not hold British citizenship and has never held British or any other citizenship other than being a Ghanaian. The allegation should be treated with the contempt it deserves. Thank you.”
