The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has revealed that the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, is distributing guns in Ashanti Region.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, the NPP Chairman stated that he has picked up intel that Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has met with all NDC Parliamentary aspirants in the Ashanti region and provided guns to them to create violence during the 2020 elections.
“I declare that in the name of Jesus Christ nothing bad would happen in Ashanti region. If John Mahama and Ofosu Ampofo bring guns here, it won’t work”, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated on the show.
He reminded executive members of the NDC that even though they were in power in 2016 and plotted “evil” against the Ashanti region, it failed to manifest.
Adding that times have changed, and the NPP would do everything to keep the region during and after the 2020 general elections.
“John Mahama was the Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces in 2016 and you couldn’t even fulfil your intent to our harm. We have a competent regional mister together with an organized security force, we would stop you”, Chairman Wontumi stated.
