Nyamekrom Chief Sets Eyes On Development, Inaugurates Seven Member Board For Infrastructural Transformation.
The Chief of Nyamekrom in New Juaben, Nana Kwame Nnuro Agyepong Ababio has inaugurated a seven member board to oversee the development of the ancient town.
Addressing a gathering which included indigenes and the Royal and Nkosuohene of Moseaso, Nana Dwomoh Brobbey (owner of Capital View Hotel), Nana Kwame Nnuro said Nyamekrom needed a facelift that can be synonymous with the status of the town.
According to him, the town cannot boast of a Police post, proper roads and other essential amenities that can make it a first class community.
Inaugurating the seven member board later, the Chief said, ”it was important that a plan is unleashed to carry out these transformational agenda so that Nyamekrom can become a first class community whose security and road network must be top notch”.
CHARGE:
Nana Kwame Nnuro urged citizens of Nyamekrom far and near to contribute to the development of the town.
This, he noted, has been the way many people have helped in the development of their communities across the world.
He urged the committee to also explore avenues of setting up a scholarship fund so as to support brilliant but needy students in the town to pursue higher levels of education.
Other youths in the community, who are ready to undertake some entrepreneurial jobs, the Chief stressed, ”should be identified by the committee so that such persons could be given training and start- up capital when they are done to start their own businesses”.
COMMENDATION:
The Chief also commended the Chief Executive of KAMA Group of Companies, Mr Michael Agyekum who happens to be the Nkabomhene of New Juaben Traditional area for his support to the people of Nyamekrom.
Nana Kwame Nnuro also praised Hon Michael Okyere BAAFI, MP for New Juaben for showing commitment to the welfare of the people of Nyamekrom.
The Nyamekrom Chief thanked the Anou Royal family for showing unflinching support for the development of the community and the wellbeing of indigenes.
MEMBERS OF THE DEVELOPMENT BOARD:
The members of the Nyamekrom Development Board are Twenefour Kingsley (Chairman), Hon Enoch Boahen (Deputy Chairman and assembly member for Nyamekrom), Augustine Odame Afum (Secretary), Asarebea Christine, Mallam Osmanu, Edward Adjaho and Comfort Nyamekye.
Speaking to this reporter, the Deputy Chairman revealed that the team would get into proper action after their first meeting slated for next weekend.
He noted all development challenges would be tackled including the perennial floods that affect Nyamekrom anytime River Densu overflows its banks.
