To win the 2024 elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must focus on satisfying the needs and wants of Ashanti, Eastern, Central, Brong Ahafo regions first before turning their attention to Volta region, lawyer Maurice Ampaw has advised.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw was however emphatic that Volta region should not be denied its share of the national cake, but was quick to stress that the excesses which come with development should be first shared among regions where the NPP gets majority of their votes.

“What I have seen is that the 2024 election, NPP is going to maintain its stronghold- Kumawu has shown us that. Assin North too has shown us that the opposition would retain its seat. There would be retainership of seats. So I am expecting the research team of NPP to look at their 2016 and 2020 data to know the regions, tribe, constituency that voted for them”, he said.

He continued that the research team must identify those that voted for them and ensure they make them happy.

“Identify those ones and make them happy. Those that didn’t vote for you, don’t worry about them just give them their portion of the nation cake”, he advised.

Using the Volta region and Ashanti region as an example, lawyer Ampaw stated that the NPP would face the wrath of the people if it decides to spend money in Volta region first before spending in Ashanti region.

“Don’t go to Volta region and spend on them. No matter what you do in Volta region, they won’t vote for you. Take development to Volta region but don’t go and spend money on them. Don’t go and share money in Volta region and leave out Ashanti region else you will face the wrath of the people”, he warned.

He listed the Ashanti, Eastern, Brong Ahafo and Central region as areas that showed the NPP love in the 2020 election and urged that the party must satisfy them first.

“If you want to share money, come to Ashanti region, Eastern region, Brong Ahafo region, Central region because they showed you love”, he said.
