NPP’s governance yields better transformation than NDC – George Akom

The parliamentary candidate for the Sekyere Afram Plains constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Akom has asserted that the performance of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in governance consistently leads to a superior transformation compared to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, George Akom highlighted significant shifts in NPP’s positive impact on the livelihood of Ghanaians.

Mr George Akom illustrated the impact on Ghana’s educational sector, health, economy and many others, highlighting that during NDC’s tenure from January 2009 to April 2016, the country has never improved on any sector the former president handed over. He emphasized that while NPP achieved an upgrade in many sectors and departments of the country, NDC did not experience any upgrades during its 8-year tenure (2009-2016).

He admits the challenges but called on Ghanaians to look up to the positiveness of the NPP and give them another mandate to establish on it crises to turn the table around.

“We though the NDC could do better when they took over from NPP in 2008. we should remember when NPP took over from the NDC in 2016 and compare to the current gains today, one can say the NPP did not perform as promised but every ministry of this government can account for a visible transformation.”

However, he lamented the cry by some party folks that the NPP government has not met the expectation of many Ghanaians “It’s sad that sometimes our own people go out saying we did nothing, let look at the bigger picture and the future of our country, the NPP has really performed and it’s our collective responsibility to make sure we break the 8”

On education, the PC jabbed former president John Dramani Mahama on his vision to reform the educational sector “I heard him saying he’ll reform the educational sector in his first 100 days, this is a clear definition of propaganda, the only reforms Mahama can do is to scrab the free SHS”
