NPP Will Reclaim The Zabzugu Parliamentary Seat This Year – DCE
The District Chief Executive of Zabzugu, Hon. Ahmed Abubakar Iddrisu has given the assurance that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), will by all means take back the area’s Parliamentary seat from the opposition NDC.
According to him, the Parliamentary seat in the area is a “default seat” whose occupation swings between the NPP and NDC.
“Its occupation has followed a peculiar trend since 2008 where after each election a new MP emerges between the NPP and NDC.” He explained.
In an interview on Wontumi Radio/TV’s Election 2020, Hon. Abubakar Iddrisu said that in the 2008 election, the NPP PC defeated the NDC candidate with 7000 votes difference to win the Parliamentary seat but in 2012 the NPP also occupied the seat with an appreciable margin.
“The Zabzugu DCE said that, in 2016 the NDC again defeated the NPP with a margin of 157 votes. This makes t is a default seat so naturally the NPP will take it back come the December elections.” He noted
According to him, the NPP are ever ready to snatch the seat from the NDC “because the Youth in the area are ready to vote massively for the NPP.”
Hon. Abubakar Iddrisu stated that, all that is required is a little effort by the NPP to once again “to conjure the magic for them to win the seat.”
According to him, the government’s flagship programmes have affected every area in the District but cautioned that “they are not going to relax in the campaign.”
He told Nana Konadu Abu Prah, “we are not resting. We are ensuring that we campaign massively for Nana Akufo-Addo everywhere.”
The Zabzugu DCE said that, they could have relaxed for the achievements of Nana Akufo-Addo to speak for the NPP in the area but they are not resting on their oars because of the fact that “some people will always try to distort the facts and cast dust into the eyes of the constituents.”
