NPP Will Have Easy Win In Election 2020 – Ashanti’ Regional Minister Predicts
Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister says the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will win the 2020 Elections hands down and with a wider margin .
“ It will be the easiest ever elections for the NPP and our opponents will marvel “ He boasted.
The Ashanti Regional Minister in an exclusive interview on Wontumi Radio/TV on Tuesday explained that because of the massive achievements of Nana Akufo-Addo, the election would be an easier task to execute.
However, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah told Oheneba Nana Asiedu that he would not be happy nor complacent until Nana Akufo-Addo hands down John Mahama a resounding defeat.
“What will make me happier is to see Ashantis vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo leading to a difference of about 1.5million votes between him and John Mahama to convince the detractors that Ashantis are not ungrateful.”
He said that, Ghanaians have carried water and wine and have seen the difference between the two in terms of the one which has a heavier weight. .
According to Hon. Osei Mensah, the NPP has their own plan of showcasing their achievements to Ghanaians but not on the prompting of their opponents.
Citing some of the achievements by Nana Akufo-Addo, the Ashanti Regional Minister said that, the Akumadan green house farm project is a one of the major initiatives because it has boosted the production of vegetables.”
On the acquisition of the drones for emergency medical delivery, He stressed that, the leading opposition party, NDC vehemently criticized the plan but Hon. Osei Mensah said that, “the drones have become very useful in emergency health care delivery situations.”
“NDC have small brains so if big brains think of something big they can’t comprehend its value.” He jabbed
The Ashanti Regional Minister said that, the only achievement the NDC can boast of in the Region is the Kejetia Market and some hospital projects which no longer make the headlines because, “ the NPP have put them in their proper place on the hospital projects by exposing their lies so they no longer talk about them.
“They cannot tout such achievements any longer because now the whole world has known who made what and from where the funding was secured to execute those projects. He said..
Hon Osei Mensah referred to the Kejetia market as, “ an ill plan project with several flaws which make it difficult to fully utilize its potential .”
He explained that, every project is done to solve problems but the Kejetia Market has only been able solve one problem which is the provision of stores yet are having a serious drainage problem.”
He bemoaned that, the NDC did not take the traditional system of trading in the Region into account before accepting the designs..
He said for instance,, NDC made a survey in 2015 that about 1000 vehicles could have enough space to park in the market daily but surprisingly provisions were made for only 108.
“Where do you expect the remaining vehicles to park?” He quizzed the NDC
Hon. Osei Mensah disclosed that, government is making provision for a more spacious parking space under the second phase of the Kejetia Market to accommodate about 1000 vehicles at a go.
