NPP-UK Branch communication team member Thomas Oheneba Boakye has commended Cocobod CEO Mr Joseph Boahen Aidoo for his tremendous work in safeguarding the cocoa industry cocoa price in Ghana.
He said the recent increase in the price of cocoa is unprecedented in the past 50 years as far as the cocoa industry is concerned.
Speaking on Kumasi based Wontumi TV/Radio morning show hosted by Oheneba Nana Aseidu, Mr Oheneba ran down the negative comments made by the former president John Mahama and the NDC adding that,
“Mr Mahama ought to have considered the broader context before passing judgement,” because he became president before Nana took over the reins of government so he can’t claim to genuinely care for the welfare of cocoa farmers.”
He said his grandmother was a cocoa farmer and any time there is an increment in cocoa price, it helps the farmers to save enough and live better.
He ridiculed the NDC for what he referred to as “their irresponsible and visionless policies for Ghanaians and farmers in particular.”
Mr Thomas Boakye also commended then government for the social intervention programmes implemented so far to make life better for all Ghanaians.
“The government should be commended for his policies and we still insist that it’s only the NPP that can build the Ghana we want and the only party with good plans and policies for it citizens”
