The National Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has said the party has made adequate preparation to capture the Assin North Parliamentary seat.
One leg of the preparation according to Henry Nana Boakye alias Nana B, is to storm the area with their “Chief Consultant” Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi.
“Chairman Wontumi is now our chief consultant. I called him over the phone to inform him about our move and he replied that he is ready to join us to the place. He stayed at Kumawu for close to 3 weeks to 1 month”, Nana B said as basis for settling on Chairman Wontumi as party of their lead campaigners.
In an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, the NPP National Executive disclosed that his party intends to win the seat and take over Assin North.
Parliament, through its Clerk, declared the Assin North Parliamentary seat vacant on May 30, following the Supreme Court’s ruling on the eligibility of James Gyakye Quayson in occupying the Assin North seat.
The Supreme Court, by a unanimous decision on May 17, ordered Ghana’s Parliament to expunge the name of James Gyakye Quayson from its records as the Member of Parliament for the Assin North constituency.
