The Subin Constituency Lawmaker, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi has asked the National Executive Officers of the NPP to change the date for the Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries for the election 2024.
The National Executive Officers of the NPP announced that the Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries will be held on November 4, 2023, and Feb 2024 respectively.
But Hon. Boakye Antwi believes that if the date is changed to somewhere in August 2023 it will help the NPP match the NDC which will hold its earlier squarely.
Appearing on Wontumi TV Morning Show on Friday he wailed that, their fiercest opponent, NDC will conduct its Primaries seven months earlier.
“The date for the Primaries is not good. It’s not too late to change it,” he told the sit-in host, Nana Konadu Abu Prah.
According to the Subin MP, the National Executive Officers didn’t undertake consultation in choosing the date.
“November is budget presentation month and a lot of Parliamentary duties are scheduled for November,” he said.
