The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Hon. Lawyer Andy Appiah-Kubi, has underscored that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislators regret having Hon. Alban Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament and would have even preferred electing ‘Satan’ to replace him.
Lawyer Andy Appiah-Kubi stated on the Wotumi Morning show that it has become difficult for the ruling Parliament to smoothly push the agenda of President Akufo-Addo with Hon. Alban Bagbin as Speaker.
“If we have to push the agenda of the President, we now suffer to do it because of the numbers in the house”, the Asante Akyem North MP confessed.
He admitted that the ruling party is suffering in Parliament due to the development adding that “now at the Parliamentary advisory board, we have been told to go and bring Asiedu Nketia, this is a lesson for us”.

He continued that MPs on the side of the NPP have regrets and have learnt their bitter lessons having a Speaker of Parliament from another political party.
“It is a grave sin to have the current Speaker of Parliament. We (NPP MPs) have learnt our bitter lessons so even if it is the Satan that the party presents as our candidate, trust me that we would vote for the Satan rather than the NDC’s candidate”, he emphasized.
He added that he knows the NPP MP who betrayed the party to vote for Hon. Bagbin would also have regrets and seek God’s face for forgiveness.
“I know whoever led the charge to have us lose that Speakership race, would go on his kneels to ask for forgiveness”, he noted.
