The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has rescheduled its National Delegates Conference from September 19, 2026 to October 3rd, 2026, citing venue issues as the main problem.
The National Organizer for the party, Henry Nana Boakye made the revelation on the Tuesday edition of Wontumi TV’s morning show hosted by Oheneba Aseidu.
Mr. Boakye said the rescheduling had become necessary because of the venues they will be using for the conference, saying they booked Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as the lodging place for all Constituency and Regional Chairmen who will come to the conference. But KNUST gave them October 3rd as the ideal date for any facility’s availability.
“Because of the huge numbers we will be having at the National Delegates Conference, we wrote a letter to KNUST asking their permission to host our constituency and regional chairmen there, but the day they gave us is October 3rd,” he stated.
He said it had become necessary to move the date to KNUST’s proposed day because the event will not be using the Baba Yara stadium alone.
And so if KNUST says October and Baba Yara will also be available, then that is the best option to take.
“Because the venues are two, which are Baba Yara and KNUST, we needed a day where will be able to use both venues. And October was the best month because we will get both venues without restriction,” he added.
