NPP Needs Unity and Strong Leadership to Win 2028 — Daniel Nii Teikoh

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, Daniel Nii Teiko, has emphasized that the party’s chances of returning to power in the 2028 general elections will depend largely on unity among its members.

According to him, the NPP can only secure victory if party faithful put aside their differences and work together toward a common goal. He further suggested that electing Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, as the party’s National Chairman could significantly strengthen the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.

Mr. Teiko made these remarks during an appearance on the Wontumi Morning Show, hosted by Kweku Kyeremanteng Nkansah. He urged all party members—particularly those who were unsuccessful in the party’s primaries—to rally behind the winners and support the NPP’s flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia.

“I personally supported Bryan Acheampong during the NPP flagbearership election. Although he lost to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, he is now supporting him. That is the kind of unity we need,” he stated.

Mr. Teiko noted that while the current political climate may present an opportunity for the NPP, internal divisions could undermine the party’s chances of success.

“It is an advantage for the NPP to win the 2028 election considering the current challenges Ghanaians are facing. However, we cannot defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if we are divided. A house divided against itself cannot stand,” he emphasized.

He cautioned party members against holding onto grudges, warning that prolonged internal conflicts could weaken the party’s foundation.

“We cannot remain angry with ourselves forever. It will only lead to the collapse of the party,” he added.

Touching on national issues, Mr. Teiko criticized the current administration, stating that many Ghanaians are facing economic hardship, including power outages, rising costs of goods such as sachet water, and ongoing challenges confronting farmers and teachers.

According to him, these conditions could influence voter decisions in the next general election.

“I am confident that those who voted against the NPP have realized their mistakes and will make a different choice in 2028,” he said.
