NPP Needs To Do Broader Consultation To Elect A Presidential Candidate For 2024 Elections- GCPP Chairman
Ashanti Regional Chairman for the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Mr. Kofi Owusu Omar has waded into the debate on the Dr. Bawumia and Alan Kyeremateng Presidential contest in the 2024 elections.
According to him, NPP has to do broader consultation within the party to elect a presidential candidate for the 2024 election.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Wontumi Radio and TV’s Morning Show, he said that both Dr. Bawumia and Alan Kyeremateng can lead the NPP to win the 2024 elections.
Chairman Omar affirmed that, the performance of President Akufo-Addo in his second term would do the magic for the ruling party to recapture power in 2024.
“What made Nana Akufo-Addo to win the 2020 elections was the free SHS, the performance of the MMDCEs and the students scholarships. If Nana becomes successful in his second term, then NDC should forget the 2024 elections.
Chairman Omar emphasized that, for the NPP to win the 2024 elections, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Chairman Wontumi’s factor would be a key.
He said that, Chairman Wontumi is very committed and can sacrifice for the party to win.
He indicated that, NDC can win the 2024 election if they get more votes in the Ashanti Region.
He indicated that, if Nana Akufo-Addo’s appointees support, the NPP can break the eight years rule jinx and the votes they will secure will put NDC to sleep.
