The New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs an economist to lead them into the 2024 elections and not a Rolls Royce driver, Frances Asiam has said.
The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company, is encouraging delegates of her party to vote wisely by electing vice President Mahamudu Bawumia as their flagbearer.
Speaking on the Ghana Nti Show which airs on Wontumi Radio in Accra, Frances Asiam stated that the NPP is at a verge where electing Bawumia would assure them victory in 2024.
“We need an economist, not someone whose vision is Bentley and Rolls Royce which are being used as taxis abroad”, she said.
Dr Bawumia will contest for the flagbearership slot along with three other contenders including, Kennedy Agyapong, Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
The NPP has slated November 4, 2023, to elect a successor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as leader of the party.
