Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory would be so severe that it would cleanse the ‘poons’ some aspirants have applied to hide their facial manholes, Dr. Samuel Afriyie has mockingly said.
Dr. Samuel Afriyie, described Dr. Bawumia as a man whose media presence is stronger than that of the other contestants vying for the flagbearer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Commending the vice President for taking advantage of his presence in the media space, Dr. Afriyie stated on the Wontumi Morning Show that “for the past 16 years he has been in the media and the role he has played as vice president has made him a household name”.
He therefore noted that the media advantage gives Dr. Bawumia an urge over the others.
“Some are in the race and they know they are in to lose. They can apply ‘poons’ (foundation) to their face but as soon as you strip it, you will unearth a manhole… there are a lot in there who have applied ‘poons’ on their face”, he said teasingly.
He also added that the responses from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on every comment Bawumia makes, puts him a position of importance.
“Bawumia’s space in the media is very high, his government activities and the NDC’s replies to every statement from him has helped with his popularity”.
