Dr. Samuel Afriyie has compared the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership contest to a beauty pageant and claimed that most of the contestants in the race personally know they don’t deserve the crown.
“It is like beauty pageant. Some can’t walk; they don’t even have the shape and know they are ugly. But they are only in the contest because maybe they are looking for a husband”, he observed on Wontumi TV.
According to him, some of the competitors in the race are only seeking to get their names in the media space and get people refer to them as “former flagbearer aspirant”.
He however reserved special praise for vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and tipped him to win the impending contest.
“Some want media space, publicity, constituency and want to be heard in the party. Some are looking for future appointments and know the true winner even before the contest begins but are taking advantage”, he said.
