NPP Comes First In Transparency In Government — Baba Alhaji

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and special assistant to the Ashanti regional organiser, Baba Alhaji has described the NPP government as extremely transparent.

According to him,  the NPP in its governance style has shown openness to the people of Ghana.

In a release copied to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper explaining how the Agyapa mineral royalties deal has been handled by government, Baba Alhaji said every item in the deal has been laid bare to the Ghanaian people.

We publish in full details of the NPP man’s write up.

NPP COMES FIRST IN TRANSPARENCY BY BABA ALHAJI.

The attorney General, Madam Gloria Akufo, principal legal adviser to the present administration seems to be evidence suggestive of the transparency of this administration.

Indeed, she has spilt much ink, grounded in sound legal principles, in surgery of very critical deals of government and in most cases, she has criticized and disagreed with government.

Worthy to note is that, often, her reasonable advice, is shared with the Ghanaian public; this singular act strongly fits to be described as a mark of honest leadership of the administration of President Akufo-Addo.

For instance, her disagreement with Ameri deal, and now Agyapa is a matter of public record.

Ironically, Madam Gloria Akufo, perceived as related to H.E Akufo-Addo has not allowed that perception to compromise her commitment to Ghana.

Significantly, her legal advices shared with the public, seems to have not in anyway caused any discomfort with the President Akufo-Addo.

Save to say that, President Akufo-Addo has been acting on the legal advices of his Attorney General.

By way of contrast, it is a less hurdle to surmount in establishing that, this sense of honest and transparent leadership was/is hugely lacking in the 8 years administration of NDC and Former President Mahama.

Suffice to note is that, the Attorney General under the administration of President Mills and Mahama, and principal legal adviser, Mr Martin Amidu, consequently was “violently” removed or sacked from office on 20th January 2012 in letter signed by then chief of staff Henry Martey Newman over the Attorney General’s mere attempt to disagree with the NDC’s corrupt and illegal payment to Businessman Alfred Woyome.

Amazingly, the letter described the mere disagreement by Attorney General Mr Martin Amidu as a “MISCONDUCT”. Interestingly, this occurred under the NDC, apostles of probity and accountability.

Indeed, it is surprising that, this same NDC and Former President Mahama would seek to be re-elected to take us back into that darkest place of dishonest, opaque and non transparent governance.

Ghanaians know the NDC as a party that conceals “gargantuan crimes against the people of Ghana”

As Ghanaians, we are able to note the difference. We are voting NPP! For leadership of service, that will protect our progress and continue with its transparency.

Signed.
Baba Alhaji.
