NPP Code Of Conduct Is To Solve Bawumia And Alan Scuffles At Funeral Grounds- Kofi Omar

Bawumia Is NPP’s School Prefect And Alan A Class Rep- Razak Abubakar

The main essence for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to issue a code of conduct is to prevent scuffles between followers of Vice President Bawumia and Mr. Alan Kyerematen at funeral grounds, Kofi Owusu Omar has underscored.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show revealed that the party witnessed a despicable event during the burial of the late Sir John, a former General Secretary for the NPP.

“The disgrace started at Sir John’s funeral and then it happened at Asenso-Boakye’s mother funeral. It was a disgrace to the party. A whole sitting vice President was mocked at a funeral ground. People are attacking each other in the same party”, Chairman Omar recounted on TV.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a code of conduct to regulate the conduct of party members in both presidential and parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2024 elections.

This, according to the party, will forestall the reoccurrence of some unpleasant events which occurred in the past and instill discipline in party administration,

“The code of conduct has been formulated in accordance with Article 18 of the New Patriotic Party’s constitution, and it is applicable to party supporters and actors including government Appointees; Ministers; Members of Governing Boards/Councils; Chief Executive Officers of Governmental Institutions; Members of Parliament; Metropolitan. Municipal and District Chief Executives; Aspirants/Potential Candidates; their Supporters and all other Members of the Party,” a statement signed by John Boadu, the party’s General Secretary, noted.

“The code of conduct is applicable during the period preceding the opening of nominations for prospective candidates to contest for the party’s presidential and parliamentary elections.”
