Nominations for Ghana Energy Awards close

Nominations into the prestigious Ghana Energy Awards (GEA) 2020 officially closed on Wednesday, September 30, following a three-month-long window since July this year.

The 4th Edition of the annual energy awards scheme, to be held on the theme: “Excelling in Crisis: the Energy Sector in a COVID-19 Era,” will recognise excellence and innovation.

It will also celebrate the players making a tremendous impact on Ghana’s energy sector.

Mr Henry Teinor, Chief Executive of Energy Media Group, organisers of the GEA told the Ghana News Agency that the 2020 event was particularly exceptional.

“This is because it is dedicated to acknowledging the interventions of organisations and individuals in the energy sector toward complementing government’s efforts in alleviating the burden of the impact of the pandemic on Ghanaians,” he said.

The GEA’20 features 14 competitive categories for the power, petroleum and renewable subsectors, including; the most coveted award of the night, Energy Personality of the Year-both male and female, Chief Executive of the Year-Power and Petroleum.
