Former President John Mahama wasn’t acknowledged by the crowd during the celebration of the 2nd Akwasidae held at Manhyia palace, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has said.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako who is the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) indicated that it was a strong signal to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that Ghanaians don’t see their flagbearer aspirant as an alternative to take over from the government of President Akufo-Addo.
“John Mahama was around but nobody recognized him”, Chairman Wontumi said as he told the NDC that maintaining him would keep their party in opposition.
Chairman Wontumi has emphatically predicted that he foresees vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, becoming the next flagbearer of his party.
In an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show which was observed by Wontumionline.com, the Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako revealed that with what he saw during the celebration of the 2nd Akwasidae, he can boldly claim that the time is ripe for Bawumia to takeover leadership of the party.
“As an emeritus of politics, I saw the same trend that brought the victory of Nana Akufo- Addo hovering over Bawumia”, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi said.
